With spring time we also have the feast of the Annunciation of thee Blessed Virgin and for most of us in the Legion it also means we will take time out to be in front of our Leader, the Blessed Virgin and dedicate out lives in her service. It is always an impressive ceremony, sometimes included with the Mass or Benediction, but a time of solemn devotion to our Leader it might also be a good time to look into our work for the Legion and see how we can improve what we are doing.
Every month the Concilium sends a booklet of the minutes of that Council and with it comes numerous reports from around the world of what our fellow Legionaires are doing. Many times we may think our praesidium is doing wonderfully with all the visits and people we get to see and know in our work of bring them back to the sacraments.
How about this for some work: In the Malang Senatus of Indonesia works included instructing of Catechumens, visitation of mentally handicapped and setting up new praesidia. In Austria a Korean Curia, having 4 attached praseidia, gave it first report and there was a Moslem family converted to Catholicism. In Zagreb Croatia, reports indicate conversions; regularizations of marriages and many return to the sacraments. Throughout the world, the work or the Legion continues and our fellow soldiers of Mary work hard to help people to save their souls. In EdeI Quin's Africa reports come that show impressive results in marital problems solved, drug abusers reformed abortions avoided through counseling and suicide prevented. In Brazil various strategies are used to visit apartments such as getting to know at least most of the residents; this promotion brought 45 to the sacraments of Reconciliation.
So what is all this to do with us? Well, we can see that if we need incentive, there is plenty in the world and plenty of good examples.
