Mary,
Queen of Angels Junior
Praesidium is a lay apostolate open to youth ages 10 to 18. It was organized through the efforts of the Immaculate heart of Mary senior praesidium of Blessed Sacrament Church. Young people from any Parish are invited to join us. At a recent meeting, when asked what the Legion meant to them, here are some of the responses: * * * Senior Member volunteer: " I enjoy working with the young people because they are very dedicated in their belief." * * * "I like making rosaries and giving them away." (Age 11, member for 1 year) * * * "I enjoy the Junior Legion of Mary because it allows me to do work for Mary such as make rosaries, cards and visit people." (Age 16, member 4 years) * * * " I love the Legion of Mary because it brings us closer to God and Mary. And I think all kids should join." (Age 10, member for 1 year) * * * "I enjoy seeing the pleasure on the faces of the people we visit." (Age 13, member 2 years) * * * I enjoy Junior Legion because there are nice people and I like to pray the nice prayers." (Age 12, member 2 years) * * * "I enjoy the Junior Legion because of both spiritual and worldly reasons. When I am at the Legion meeting I feel that I am directly serving the Blessed Virgin Mary. In my position as secretary to the Praesidium, I enjoy writing in the Spiritual army of God. The making of rosaries and cards lets me use my creativity in God's work as well. Finally, the Legion lets me meet other solidly Catholic youth who are both fun loving and orthodox. These, and many other reasons, make me love the Junior Legion of Mary." (Age 16, member 4 years) |
