---what do you see? What is the
lamp for? Is it visible?
Why?
God is Love – St. John: God is fire and fire is a cleanser and with God’s. Love we are cleansed from our sins.
God sent the Spirit of Love, the Holy Spirit, down upon us at Pentecost -“I came to cast fire upon the earth and
would that it were already kindled.”
The fire that was sent down was to enkindle fire in our hearts. The whole purpose of Christ coming to earth was
to purify earth and its inhabitants for readiness for heaven.
Christ’s love is to be reciprocal – that is what He wants from us – an unchained love whereby we might
concentrate on Him with all our love.
He loves each and every one of us personally as if we were the only object of His love.
He loves us even if we do not return that love or ungrateful to him by committing sin, a refusal of love’s return.
Mary – an example of His love and example of what our love for Him should be. No restrictions on her love. She
mirrored His love. Her will was tuned into His love and His wishes
Love God without limits. We cannot retune a half hearted love to a complete love from God.Mary teaches us
how to love without limits. She uses her deeds.
,
Humbly she prays in the presence of Gabriel. Accepted motherhood without arguments.
Relates to Elizabeth's prayer with one of her own - giving a YES to God's plan.
Saints do the same thing. Not questioning God but saying YES to whatever He wants, joining their wills to
God's will- reflecting God's love with their love.
Basically, Love calls for love - true love begets love = YES
a) By denying ourselves and serving others with whom we work and live
b) By living temperance and sobriety through small mortifications
c) By: being punctual in the fulfillment of our duties
d) By making the effort to required to pray well
NO ONE SHOULD BE UNAFFECTED BY THE SPARK THAT GOD GIVES US.
